SYSLAB International AS (SI) has for more than 20 years worked with outplacement and entrepreneurship in Norway and many other countries in both Europe and Central Asia.
In Azerbaijan, SI has been active since 2011 when the first center was inaugurated in Baku. Today SI has centers in Baku and Sumqayit, and will soon open a new center in Ganja.
The SI mission in Azerbaijan is a multi-client project together with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (NMFA), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Azerbaijani Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population (MoLSPP).
The focus group for SI Azerbaijan is unemployed persons with higher degrees in various fields, from engineers to doctors and teachers etc. This focus group is important to the development of the economy of a country. It leads to reduced unemployment in general and helps prevent “brain drain” (when the most resourceful move abroad). According to research, increasing employment amongst persons with higher degrees also leads to higher employment amongst other groups in society.
SI focuses on teaching participants to master presentation techniques, improve their networking and search for employment in a proactive manner, working together in groups in an environment that is similar to a work place.
To date some 280 persons have been participants at SI Azerbaijan, with a success rate of 80% finding relevant work within a period of a couple of months.
